Objectives :

The "Game Dev" training allows the student to acquire artistic and technical skills to design

and produce a 3D video game based on a story and gameplay. At the end of this training cycle, the student will produce a video game prototype and present it in front of a professional jury

 

 

Prerequisites :

Coding knowledge is preferred but not required.

Training program

Module 1: VIDEO GAME CULTURE AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

This module will allow the learner to:

  • Have a good knowledge of the video game market
  • Understand production challenges and implement a teamwork methodology
  • Master localization, testing and constraints imposed by manufacturers
  • Be able to put in place permanent monitoring of new technologies

 

Module 2: DEVELOPMENT ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENT

This module will allow the learner to:

  • Know how to set up the hardware, software and network infrastructure for the smooth running of the project
  • Be able to analyze and select a game engine based on target, and project constraints
  • Understand the use of code commitment and version management tools
  • Be able to implement a debug tracking tool
  • Understand the challenges and constraints of multi-platform development

 

Module 3: GRAPHICS BASES

This module will allow the learner to:

  • Gain an artistic vision to be able to communicate well with other members of the team and set up data structures adapted to the needs of the production
  • Master the basics of 3dsmax software

 

                   Module 4: USING THE UNREAL ENGINE

This module will allow the learner to:

  • Understand the philosophy of engine operation and get familiar with its interface
  • Manipulate key engine features
  • Master Scripting based on Unreal Blueprints
  • Understanding the link between C++ and Blue Print

 

             Module 5: UNREAL ENGINE: SCENE MANAGEMENT

This module will allow the learner to:

  • Understand the constraints of importing a 3D scene
  • Master the basics of Camera Integration & Management
  • Understand the basics of light management
  • Embed special effects and sound
  • Manage interactive 3D objects

 

Module 6: UNREAL ENGINE: PLAYER AND NON-PLAYER CHARACTER MANAGEMENT (NPC)

This module will allow the student to:

  • Import and integrate player characters
  • Manage animations and interactions
  • Manage Character Physics (jump etc...)
  • Manage IAs and non-player character settings
  • Integrate NPC

 

Module 7: MENUS, OPTIONS, HUD, SCORING,

This module will:

  • Design a video game menu
  • Create HUD / UI
