BTS – BIM and Digital Building Modeling

Master BIM from A to Z: understand its principles, the roles of stakeholders and the life cycle of a building, transition from 2D to 3D by structuring the model, coordinate disciplines and detect clashes, draft agreements and apply the legal framework, produce renders and animations, evaluate energy performance, automate tasks and manage data exchanges, all while leading a collaborative project and communicating effectively in multiple languages.

🎯 Learning Outcomes

  • Explain BIM principles, the roles of stakeholders, and the building life cycle, while collaborating in a Common Data Environment (CDE) and ensuring interoperability.
  • Transition from 2D to 3D, structure the model (families, LOD) and produce compliant documentation (plans, sections, schedules, sheets).
  • Coordinate disciplines by detecting clashes, tracking issues in the CDE, and controlling the quality of deliverables.
  • Draft and verify the BIM agreement, meet the requirements of a tender dossier (DCE), and apply the legal, contractual, and ethical framework, including rights and data management.
  • Produce renders and animations, prepare XR reviews, and communicate appropriately with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Evaluate energy performance to suggest improvements and contribute to 6D/7D facility management by producing the digital as-built documentation (DOE), feeding the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and keeping the model up to date.
  • Automate tasks (Dynamo/Grasshopper), control data quality, and integrate/exchange files (CSV/Excel) to enrich the model.
  • Plan and manage a collaborative BIM project (workflow, versioning), then present and defend it orally and in writing in French, Arabic, and English.

🧾 Required Level

  • Minimum high school diploma or construction-related degree in a related specialty (building, architecture, CAD, geomatics, etc.)

⏳ Duration & Format

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
  • Weekly hours: 28 hours per week (classes, workshops, projects, self-study)

🛠️ Technologies & Software

  • Revit Suite, Navisworks, BIM Collaborate Pro, Dynamo, Unreal Engine 5, Twinmotion, Autodesk Insight Carbon Analysis
